Are you haunted by dreams of owning your own narrowboat, wide-beam or barge? If our website of boats for sale doesn’t leave you spell-bound this Halloween try some of these events around the country to get you in the spirit next week (- the spirit of bad puns maybe?!)

The National Waterways Museum is hosting ‘Fright Night At The Museum 2’ an event that takes families around a spooky story set in the old locks, docks and warehouses of the historic site. The script for the performance has been written by canal travelling theatre company Mikron Theatre and the tour takes place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Advance booking is essential.

Standedge Tunnel is the longest, highest and deepest canal tunnel in the country. On 30th October, there will be a Halloween Costume Makeover, where children can make their own scary costumes and on 31st October, there will be a Pumpkin Carving class. There will also be spooky boat trips through the tunnel throughout half term week, where passengers will hear the tunnel’s scary history.

In London, Camden Canals and Narrowboat Association are offering Halloween boat trips through the Islington tunnel on narrowboats decorated with a spooky theme. The trips begin at the London Canal Museum in Kings Cross so that passengers can explore the museum. Also, at the edge of London, near Uxbridge, Hillingdon Narrowboats Association are running Halloween boat trips from the Coy Carp pub in Harefield.

The Black Country Living Museum in Dudley is offering trick or treating in the museum's cobbled streets and entertainment includes circus skills, birds of prey and street theatre.

On the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal in Wales there will be a lantern procession on both the canal and the towpath at Gilwern. It includes fancy dress, children’s activities, refreshments and a party as part of the Mon and Brec 200 celebrations.

What’s happening near you? Will you be sweeping out the cobwebs ready to sell your current boat? We do our best to make sure all our boats for sale are practically spook-free.
