Broker's Comments
A little gem of a cruiser, in need of repairs; this classic gaff ketch built in 1975 would make a good live a board, and is a great opportunity for the cruising couple or single-handed to become part of the small band of people belonging to the Tahiti Ketch family.
The present owner belongs to a wooden boat association to which the port grants special reduced port fees, plus the added bonus of several nautical jollys as a group each year.
She is a project for a competent DIY person; a season’s work would transform this rather pretty boat. Whilst on board she appeared dry and warm and much of the required work is cosmetic, however she really requires the following;
Engine service
Deck repairs (decks are teak over plywood which have been leaking in some places)
Fwd cabin berth to be fitted
Toilet and basin to be fitted
A Classic design ocean going boat, by John Hanna, these low production boats have got a very good name as far as being almost indestructible, although not the fastest across the water. Several of these boats have been around the world, single handled or with families.
The present owner is selling due to health reasons
